Jake’s Birthday is back — and we couldn’t be more excited.

For the first time since 2019, before COVID changed the world and put our celebration on pause, we are bringing back this beloved Marsh’s Free Museum tradition in a big way. After years away, Jake the Alligator Man is finally getting the birthday bash he deserves — and the Long Beach Peninsula is invited.
​
This annual two-night event honors our most famous resident with creativity, community spirit, and a little bit of wonderfully weird fun.
​
The celebration begins on Friday, September 25th, with an adults-only Burlesque Show, featuring themed performances, theatrical flair, and Jake-inspired mischief.​​
The festivities continue on Saturday, September 26th, with a family-friendly Talent Show, where performers of all ages compete for the ultimate honor — being crowned “Jake’s Wife.”
​
​This exciting revival of Jake’s Birthday is being thoughtfully planned and designed by KB Designs, bringing fresh energy while honoring the tradition so many have missed.

​We are thrilled to welcome everyone back and can’t wait to celebrate together again.
For A Good Cause
Jake’s Birthday is a celebration of creativity, tradition, and community spirit. In keeping with that spirit, Marsh’s Free Museum is proud to give back.

A percentage of the proceeds from this year’s Jake’s Birthday event will be donated to Peninsula Poverty Response, a local nonprofit organization serving families across the Peninsula. Peninsula Poverty Response works to help individuals and families move from crisis to stability by providing support, resources, and pathways toward long-term security.

By attending Jake’s Birthday, purchasing tickets, and participating in the festivities, you are not only supporting a beloved local tradition—you are also helping make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors.

History of
Jake's Birthday
Each year the town of Long Beach WA celebrates the birthday of their most unusual native son... Jake The Alligator Man. Jake, who is a resident of the world famous Marsh's Free Museum is known far and wide as one of the finest Alligator-men to ever crawl upon the shores of Washington.

​During his annual birthday celebration, local residents choose a local maiden to become Jake's bride. They also hold a car show which attracts some of the most amazing custom cars and hot rods in the US.
